To finish the celebrations of our 15th year anniversary on a high note we organized free historical tours in Little Burgundy’s neighborhood (Montreal). These informative walks were presented in collaboration with Rito Joseph and Reebok. Check out the photos and short documentary that was filmed for the occasion.
Rito Joseph is a guest speaker and tour guide in Montreal. Passionate by culture and history, it’s his father who taught him the history of Haïti on his way to school. Today, Rito is known for his work in the cultural field and his captivating historical walks that highlight Montreal’s Black community and its significant impact on local and international culture. |

15 years ago Little Burgundy took inspiration from a neighborhood in Montreal to find its brand name. You guessed it, the Little Burgundy neighborhood! The notion of being local and attached to its roots is very important and at the heart of Little Burgundy’s brand DNA. For its 15th year anniversary, Little Burgundy wanted to give back to the community by organizing a unique project: free historical walks guided by the talented Rito Joseph.

For the occasion, our amazing graphic designer Carolane Bélanger designed T-shirts illustrating legendary musician Oscar Peterson. The tour showcases, among other things, the first Black community center in Little Burgundy, the beautiful murals representing jazz pioneers and the Union United Church. Rito showed us so many hidden gems of the neighborhood and the employees and community members loved the experience! If you have the chance to participate in one of Rito’s historical tours, we highly recommend it!
Take a look at the following documentary that highlights the tour and Rito’s passion. |
