Come check out the Little Burgundy pop-up art gallery - June 6th to 16th!
With six editions under their belt, year after year, MURAL Festival transforms St-Laurent Boulevard (between Sherbrooke and Mont-Royal) into an open-air museum, championing the urban art movement through impressive street art and captivating music. From local to international talent, the festival unites world-class musicians and visual artists for a cultural celebration, cementing Montreal as a global destination for contemporary art. Since 2013, approximately 80 major works have left a permanent vibrant mark on the city, with another 20 set to join the tally this year. This will be our first time partnering with MURAL Festival. With art and culture playing such a key role in the Little Burgundy DNA, it only makes sense. We always take pride in supporting up-and-coming creative minds, giving them national visibility, and that’s something MURAL Festival knows all about. During the festival, you’ll be able to check out our Little Burgundy pop-up art gallery situated on St-Laurent Boulevard. Inside there will be sculptures created by none other than Laurence Vallières plus video content and sweepstakes. Not to mention, we’ll be hosting an exclusive event on June 13th in the festival VIP area. We couldn’t ask for a better collaborator for the event than Laurence Vallières. Laurence is a Montreal-based artist who has garnered quite the international recognition from being featured in well-known art reviews to even creating pieces for Burning Man. She’s known for her incredible 3D structures made from recycled cardboard that reflect on various social and environmental issues. For the event, Laurence will be creating three one-of-a-kind pieces, inspired by the forests of Quebec. She’ll bring our native wildlife from the backcountry to the big city using her signature recycled cardboard, and shoe boxes, to remind us of the fragility of their natural habitat. In line with the message behind Laurence’s work and our desire to protect the environment, all festival long, we’ll be selling $10 tickets that enter you to win one of the pieces, and all proceeds go toward the Société pour la nature et les parcs du Canada (SNAP). SNAP is a non-profit organization dedicated to the long-term conservation of Quebec’s wilderness. They devote their time to creating protected areas across the province, from the Boreal Forest to the St. Lawrence River, ensuring all our valuable ecosystems can be experienced for generations. See you at MURAL Festival |
