Celebrating women, entrepreneurship and creativity

Annually, on March 8th, women are celebrated globally. This year, LB decided to collaborate with a local artist to showcase her creativity and entrepreneurial spirit. With this article, we wish to highlight the work of Gabrielle White. We had the chance to ask her some questions about her art, creating process, and reflections on Women’s Day.

Where do you find your inspiration? "I draw my inspiration from a variety of sources, whether it's my favourite childhood memories, my favourite food, or the artists I admire on social media. My creative process is deeply influenced by what I love the most, and I believe that my jewelry often reflects the different phases of my life or the things I am going through. Whether it's a travel memory, a season, or contemporary trends, each collection carries a part of myself and what surrounds me."
How do you feel most valued as a woman? "I feel most valued when I am supported by the women around me, when they encourage me to believe in myself and to persevere. I'm continually amazed by how crucial female solidarity is; the support we offer one another is invaluable, and we stand by each other through thick and thin. I feel most valued when I can live authentically, pursuing my true identity and passions without worrying about being seen as unprofessional, naive, or immature." Can you share with us some women that you find inspiring and why? "Many women have made a lasting impact on my artistic journey and continue to inspire me in all the creative projects I undertake, be it for my company or my personal projects in visual arts. They include successful entrepreneurs like Kelsey Armstrong of Haricot Vert, as well as renowned artists like Louise Bourgeois, Annette Messager, PONY, and many more."
A final word for Women's Day? "I wish to congratulate all the strong women who have overcome imposter syndrome and pursued their dreams and ambitions with determination, proving that anything is possible when you love what you do. A special mention to women worldwide who nurture aspirations and dreams but who may face political obstacles and precarious situations." |
